Here’s the full set on Wowhead.

Way back when, when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, Rachel made a request:

Would love some goblin hunter transmogs! My blood elf DK alt has as many transmog outfits as I have time to farm but I can’t find more than a couple for my goblin main.

I answered the first half of that request with my Demon Stalker (Hunter) set, but spoke of a second set to come — something sexy and impractical, yet somehow still kind of boring. Ladies and gentlemen, this is that set.

Most of the time, I work from a pretty wide selection of sources, everything from the easiest Vanilla quest to end-game Mists of Pandaria progression raiding. This time, I’m taking it easy on you. Your greatest enemy here is server size; there are more than 200 World Drop - Includes Zone-Specific Drops Auction House - Click Here For Undermine Journal Mail Combat Leggings on Auction Houses across Azeroth, so if it’s available, consider yourself blessed. If it’s not, and you’re looking at the unfortunate prospect of grinding it yourself, you have a long, hard slog ahead of you.

Oh, and if you haven’t seen the Cataclysm Raid Drop - Boss Loot or Raid Trash Drop Imperfect Specimens 27 and 28 animation, check it out on Wowhead. It’s very cool.

Because #DeathKnightWeek Runs on DWT Time

Part of Lae’s Alt Appreciation series.

And the Devil Wears Transmog runs on Blizzard’s Tuesday maintenance schedule so, uh, I’m not late. For another five hours.

Prior the announcement of #DeathKnightWeek, I didn’t have a Death Knight. Well, that’s not true. I had lots of Death Knights, deleted, abandoned or dead on other servers. This is what happens when you’re the sort of person who regularly bumps up against the 50 character account limit.

But I wanted a Death Knight I’d actually play, so I sauntered over to one of my less populated servers and rolled Mortuary.

For all my love of transmog, I like the DK starting zone gear enough I’ll probably leave her like this ’til 90.

mortuary_landing

Likes: piña coladas, long walks on the beach, and posing dramatically in front of large, glowing objects.

mortuary_mount

A touching moment between mount and rider in the shadow of a Havenshire outhouse.

mortuary_lichking

He’s kind of cute. You know, for a twelve-foot tall force of pure evil.

But it wouldn’t be a Devil Wears Transmog post without some ill-conceived fashion suggestions, so away we go!

You’ll notice this round looks a little different. This time, I’ve turned to MogIt and, frankly, the results are great enough that I think I’ll be using MogIt exclusively from now on.

Okay, so an argument could be made that those boots don’t really work, but I don’t care. They’re gorgeous and look heavy enough to smash a man’s face in, both important qualities for any fashionable Death Knight. That said, none of these pieces are locked to a particular class or faction, so have fun!

Okay, so maybe this transmog isn’t breaking any new ground, but I think the blue in the belt with the blue in her eyes makes this a solid alternative to a Death Knight’s usual parade of skulls and spikes. Again, there’s nothing here that’s locked to a particular class, but those axes — in that color, anyway — are only available for Alliance players.

Next up, #DruidWeek! Bring on the… uh, worgen.

I swear I’m a Hordie. I swear.

5.4 Looms, Brings With It Shiny Cosmetic Gear

dark_kor'kron setA whole slew of revised patch notes for 5.4 were released today, but because my priorities are firmly in order there’s only one announcement that caught my interest: the Kor’kron Dark Shaman set.

Now, here’s a funny one. The set, which is widely considered to look better than a lot of the tier gear right now, is actually “cosmetic.” That is to say, theoretically, it should be available to anyone — cloth-wearer to plate-wearer and everyone in between.

Except for the part where they’ve gone and stuck a “Classes: Shaman” notice on it.

I guess all those plate-wearing shamans were complaining about being left out.

There’s no word about where the set comes from or whether there are other classes-specific sets in the pipe. But as I’ve decided to roll myself a shaman (how cute is this top?), for now anyway,  I’m not complaining.

Check out the whole set on Wowhead.

I don’t know what it is about me and hunters. You’ve seen my work here — it’s bright, it’s colourful, it’s a bit strange — but put a hunter model list in front of me and what comes out is, well, kind of boring.

They all look like hunters. I mean, who does that?

Anyway, this is the first set I’ve put together to answer Rachel’s request:

Would love some goblin hunter transmogs! My blood elf DK alt has as many transmog outfits as I have time to farm but I can’t find more than a couple for my goblin main.

There’s a second set (a little more sexy and a little less practical) coming in a few days. In the meantime, if you have a request, let me know.

Just a note:

The two Demon Stalker pieces are shown as drops from Burning Crusade raids (Gruul’s Lair and Magtheridon’s Lair) but, technically, that’s where their corresponding tokens drop. To actually claim your prizes, you’ll have to sweet talk Arodis Sunblade or Asuur in Shattrath City first.

A Guide to Shirts: Thanks, Wowhead!

While lots of people have resources available to let you see how transmog gear or even tabards look on your toon, shirts have never commanded quite the same attention. I can understand. They’re understated and, well, largely under-armor, too. But the truth of the matter is, a good (or a bad) shirt can make or break a transmog set.

Thanks be to Wowhead for stepping in to fill the void. They’ve prepared a series of quick links (with images!) by colour to help people easily find what they need.

You can check out their post Best in Show: A Guide to All Shirts here.
